Our company promotes CSR in all of its business activities, as a standard of responsibility all of these are in accordance with current laws on labor, social security, taxation, and child labor protection. The actives we develop at Cukra benefit directly over 1, 200 families.
Since April 2006, workers have a collective agreement suitably agreed with the employee union that represents them, consisting of 50 clauses, many of which are not only directed to the advantage of employees, but also benefit their families, including children, parents, wives or husbands. These benefits include access to medical treatment, scholarships, toys, school packages, among others. Our staff also benefit from an employee's shop, where they are given discounts and credit for the most important products identified and suited for their needs.
Since 2008, our company, in coordination with the Organization Un Techo Para Mi Pais, has managed to build a total of 41 homes, 20 of which were donated to the community and 21 were donated to the employees of the company taking into account three aspects:
Firstly, the families receiving the houses lived on extreme poverty conditions. The donation would help them to improve their quality of life.
Secondly, employees have worked for the company for at least 3 years.
Thirdly, employees owned the terrain where the house was built.
As part of our environmental commitment, we are developing a plan of reforestation including areas owned by our company and farmers, in order to contribute to the improvement of the environment in the surrounding communities and develop the environmental quality of the area where the company is located. Also, we have been actively redesigning and implementing new techniques in our processes to reduce the creation of contaminating agents, and guiding our producers in the implementation of Good Agricultural Practices.
We support various institutions and organizations such as: Catholic Church, National Police, Universities and schools, Ministry of Health, Nursing Home, Ministry of Agriculture and Forests, among others.
